Then again, she hates Angelina Jolie so she's not all bad.

Always wanted to see that, I hear Morgan Freeman is great in it! And I can see what you mean this place is kind of a ghost town that picks up with new visitors...

I saw Cowboys and Aliens yesterday, I'll admit that a lot of the criticisms weren't unfounded and for the for the amount of potential it had it did not really deliver, but that's not to say it wasn't without its better aspects. But almost all of the characters felt half formed, like we were only given the beginnings of a great character.

Yeah, Cowboys and Aliens had a lot of potential to be genre busting fun, but my problem with it was actually it was well, predictable. I remember thinking "oh let me guess it jumps out at them right?" "The kid uses the knife with the significance behind it. Well I didn't see THAT coming". "The pacifest starts fighting, right?" The only thing the movie did well was the female lead (or at least the twist involving her). I thought she looked a bit wierd and out of place in the begining and she seemed all self reliant (which I would normally be advocating but it wasn't done in a way that gelled with the 1800s setting). But then (SPOILER!) it's revealed she's an alien. That, that was actually pretty genius. If you know, it was done this way on purpose and it wasn't just a wierd actress/direction choice that happened to work in thier favor. Of course, then they didn't flesh her out much. She makes a heroic sacrifice to save her people, but we don't know anything about them other than that the bad aliens killed them all. We don't much about here other than that...she wants to avenge her people and falls in love with the lead.
I understand where they were going with the gold thing, but it was pretty heavy handed.
The dog had some funny scenes but, a dog sidekick? Really? This is supposed to be for adults (or at least teenagers) right?
But hey this movie contained Harrison Ford, that makes it better on principle...what is this nuked fridge you speak of?

I actually predicted the twist involving Wilde from a mile away. BTW, that kid was the Aang in The Last Airbender....it's sad that that performance was better than the Airbender one.

Cowboys & Aliens & potential.... See, I disagree with you folk - I think it delivered exactly what it offered. I mean, it's a movie called Cowboys & Aliens. And what do we get? Cowboys. Aliens. Harrison Ford. My review: If you're interested in a movie called Cowboys & Aliens, you'll like it. If you're not, you won't.
And yes, I knew what Wilde was from the very first time we saw her. Because she looks scary enough that I couldn't accept any other resolution.

I've decided to checkout cult/short lived/under-appreciated TV shows on DVD recently. Had a Firefly marathon about a month ago, which might I add was beyond epic and I see why this still gets some fan boy blood boiling whenever its cancellation is mentioned. I hesitantly bought the first season of Veronica Mars last week and while the show took a little while to grow on me, I'm pretty much hanging out for season 2 already.
Thoughts? While I can't spend all that much money on stuff at the moment, I wanna check out Freaks and Geeks some time, only because ever lead in that show seems to have become a movie star since it ended. (John Francis Daley, James Franco, Seth Rogen, Busy Philipps)

I've still only seen the pilot for Freaks and Geeks, but it was great! I want to watch the rest, but apparently that box set belonged to my friend's SISTER, so he can't lend it to me.

HOW DARE YOU LEAVE THE "Y" OFF OF "MANY"?
(That is what you meant to say, right, "How dare you have so many full stops in one post?" Unless there's a meaning to "how dare you have so man full stops..." I don't understand...)
