so, this idea has been in the back of my mind for AGES and I finally started to play around with the beginnings of a story tonight. now, this probably won't see light of day til this summer, but i wanted to get an idea from yall to see if you would read it. here's the prologue/introduction for the story, then I'll give a description of the story, which i currently am wanting to title "Dimensions"
To many in this life, the only thing that is real is what they can see. The only thing they can know is what they can touch and feel for themselves. For the vast majority of people on this planet; books, TV shows, movies, and comics are just works of fiction. Yet, for others, there are other realities; realities beyond this one. For those that are special, they realize that there is something more to existence then our plane of existence. For when one of these people dreams, they tap into another reality, another dimension. These dimensions play out in their dreams, impress their stories upon their minds and compel them to write. When we watch a movie, we aren’t seeing merely a work of fiction; we are seeing the story of another dimension spring to life. These authors can each only sense one of the billions of dimensions that exist, but there is one person who can sense them all. He has been empowered with the knowledge of countless dimensions, and it is his mission to use his knowledge acquired through our world’s fiction to help people from these different dimensions out in time of their most desperate need. His name is Jonathan Cooper, and he is the Protector of all those in need, no matter what dimension they may be in.
ok, so that's the prologue there. basically, every story arc would feature Jonathan, a character from our world, being sent by the one that rules all dimensions to help certain people out in the stories that we either read or watch. it's not a BRPG, but an actual story, with only one made up character. each arc would focus on a different dimension(like say the 616 version of the Marvel world) that Jonathan would enter to help out a character in danger. at the end of each story, Jonathan would travel back to our reality to await his next assignment. that of course means each arc would feature very different characters, which would be a lot of fun for me to write. would this kind of story interest all of you, though?
