Ok, so with word coming out about Spider-Man 4 being canceled and a reboot planned instead what are your thoughts about the movie? Who should play Peter? How about MJ? Should Gwen be in it? And of course, who should write and who should direct? I still have no idea who a credible Peter should be, I personally think it should be someone who's never been a major actor before, it might help his believability. Same with Gwen and MJ, although they had better be freaking hot(please tell me they learned their lesson casting Kirsten Dunst. Please?). I'm all for Brian Michael Bendis penning the reboot, imo he understands Spider-Man better than anyone besides the Man himself, Stan Lee. For Director, I'd be fine with someone like Jon Favreau(who did Iron Man) or i've even heard about the director of the film District 9, which looks really good, so i'd be fine with that. However, please don't ever let James Cameron take it. Wanna know why? Here's Cameron's scriptment of Spider-Man from the early 90s www.scifiscripts.com/scripts/spidermanscriptment.txt . just gonna warn you, it's really bad.

Tho I hate it that Sony messed up Spider-man 4. I wouldn't mind seeing a USM movie. (Jon Favreau)-nah,he's too busy with Iron man and it just doesn't feel right. (Neil..something-D9)-Yes,that would so work with an Ultimate Spider-Man movie. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Don't worry,he too busy with Avatar 2 and a likely third one! ;D

I hope Cameron's busy. that script was horrid. Blomkamp(something like that) looks to be the best choice so far, I just don't know if it's too high profile for him or not. (I'm hoping not). I think USM would be the only way a reboot could go. It would put Peter back in high school, and it could make it a lighter movie with a more fun tone to it. Maybe even get Peter back to cracking jokes? I hope so. Who do you want as the villain? I'm not sure on the main one that, though I think Bruce Campbell as Mysterio would be great. If they go with a darker villain, than I would say that somewhere in the movie I'd love to see Spidey take 5 minutes to battle it out with Ultimate Shocker. It would provide a lighter feel to the movie, and make it a fun little segment in a darker movie.

if we're going ultimate, then first I agree with you on the Shocker, but for a main villain...errr, I think Electro, Kingpin, Norman Osborn, and the Enforcers...using the story arc, i forget what its called....but you guys know...it would be a great way to start the new movie series looking for his uncle's killer, but putting in gangs along with a few supervillains...plus it could set up Green Goblin Norman...and yes Gwen and MJ must be in it! and definetely super hot ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) lol

"learning Curve" arc

Learning Curve would be great, especially in that we wouldn't have to see his origin again, we could just start the movie with him looking for the man who hired his uncle's killer. But I don't want Ultimate Goblin design, it wouldn't translate well to the movies at all. (heck, it doesn't work well in the USM comics either)

it doesn't have to be exactly like him, but its Spider-Man, so Green Goblin would have to have some kind of appearance. lol if not though, it could move onto a Roxxon storyline, there are plenty of those in USM, I really like Learning Curve as a starter though...like you said, we wouldn't need an origin...a few comments, a flashback maybe, add a crime lord and lightning butt, and wham! you got an Ultimate Spider-Man movie!

Supposedly the reason Peter never cracked jokes in the movies was because it's hard to quip in real time (ie if you're running around doing stunts you'd be outta breath and unable to stop and give calm cool and hilarious dialoge). But I think they could get around this if Peter's jokes were in between throwing punches and were kept to more or less one-liner status (like in hey! Spectacular Spider-Man). I already listed off what I'd like to see in the reboot over @ tv.com...as for actors I agree that it should be mostly unknowns and I really can't think of any teen! actors that'd fit the roles (although Dakota Fanning could work out as Gwen...yes I saw her in New Moon and yes I read all the Twilight books...shut up okay!)

Really dakota? ain't she like 15? I think they should go a little older than that, and more mature, I still think of her as a kid actress, not a love interest for a superhero.

I think Fanning could work as Gwen. I think she's 16...17 and by the time they get to making the movie she'd be at least 18. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

The only one of those that would be acceptable to me would be Highmore. I actually think he'd be a very good candidate, provided he can hide his British accent. The others are too old.

Well, because this thread needs some pictures here's an idea from me for Gwen Stacy. How about the girl who played Emma Frost in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Tahyna Tozzi? She's only 23, and i think she could pull of a teenager. Plus, she's definitely hot enough. ![](http://www.comicbookmovie.com/images/users/gallerypictures/1933L.jpg) ![](http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01393/Tahyna-Tozzi_1393552i.jpg) ![](http://www.girl.com.au/graphics/beautiful2.jpg) then there's Paycheckgurl's (and others from what I've seen) suggestion of Dakota Fanning. She's the right age, but does she look the part? ![](http://blog.zap2it.com/thedishrag/legacyimages/photos/uncategorized/2009/01/24/dakota_fanning.jpg) to me, Fanning doesn't quite speak Gwen Stacy to me, and Tahyna Tozzi might be to old. any other suggestions?

hmm, Tahyna defintely to me fits the part, but she would have to play a part a little younger than you, like you said...
as for Peter, I think Highmore or Chace Crawford (maybe if he shaved, got a minor hair cut, etc.) but Taylor lautner??? No...if he died his hair a dirty blonde he could play Flash...maybe...lol

As for Gwen; I'm sticking with Dakota Fanning,Tahyna Tozz is a bit too old and DF can act better, where Tozz is a little shallow. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png)

Still have no idea who my ideal Peter or MJ would be...for MJ you need an actress who (unlike Dunst) can be happy and bubbly but somehow make the emotional mask shine through or convingly drop hints she knows his ID (oh and this needs to be included in the script this time around-even if they go with ultimate). As for Peter, it's more a problem of A) there's no one I can think of off the top of my head that looks like he should. Or B) who I think could pull off the geek thing (without over doing it) AND be convincing as a vilgilante AND be witty. Any suggetions?
Oh @ Taylor as Peter ;DHAHAHA ;D that's freakin' hilarious! That aside...god that boy has nice abbs...
