Hell: A Story Of Love
It was our second date, Kristina, the love of my life…We decided on a quiet night. No movies, no hectic reservations at some expensive restaurant. Just a few sandwiches, two bags of chips and a 2 liter of Sprite and we were good.
“I must give props on your sandwich making skills, I really underestimated them” I told Kristina, I loved the face she made, almost as if she was really insulted. I never really knew what to say around her. I was WAY out of her league, she should be dating the big, strong jocks at Jefferson High. Not me, David Wester. 5'9, 156 with no sports background besides running...running was the only thing i was good at.
“Well I underestimated your blanket picking skills, this one is quiet comfortable” We both laughed, as she took the last bite of her sandwich, i only looked down at me and put it in the clear plastic bag and stick it in my jacket pocket. We took a couple drinks of the Sprite then we just…laid back and watched the stars.
“Your parents don’t really like me do they?” I could tell, Dick and Mary Parker just didn’t like me. You know when you go to buy something at the store and the casher says ‘Hi’ and you say ‘Hello’ back? Well then the casher just continues what their doing and you just pay and leave, no real conversation happens…It was kinda like that. Awkward. The question made her laugh.
“Your just different from my previous boyfriends, they don’t understand you yet”
“Sorry I’m not 235 pounds of muscle and lack knowledge of math…Sometimes it good to be in Track & Field and have a high IQ”
“You have a high IQ?” She asked
“I honestly don’t know” We both laughed until a shooting star shot across the sky.
“Wow! That was oddly close”
“Yeah, that is weird. Hey, on Friday, do you wanna watch that new vampire movie?” Suddenly the ground began to shake, we both sit up and looked around, Earthquake in the middle of Ohio? What the hell was going on? Suddenly it began to get bright, like being in a dark room and slowly opening the blinds. Next moment, I was on the floor, tossing and turning. I had a terrible headache, followed by several aches in my bed. What just happened?. I feel for Kristina…She’s gone. She was just next to me, where could she have gone?
"Kristina? KRISTINA!" I yelled and got no respone, i looked over, back toward the top of the hill, i only see the front of the car, sticking out. Maybe she ran back to the car...I rush over to the car and look around, she's no where in sight. “KRISTINA!” No answer, I get in the car, start this baby up and drive back to the nearest gas station. I didn't want to come to any conclusions? Maybe she got scared and ran off...I didn't know what to think, how in the hell was i suppose to think. I see the small, house slash Gas Station. I see the old man, waiting outside the front door, as if he was expecting me.
"They got her?” He said as if he knew the answer, how in the hell did he know Kristina was gone?
“She’s gone, we were in the field, just a couple miles back…it got bright and she disappeared”
“She’s in hell” The old man begin to walk to the garage, I stared at him as he walked off.
“This is serious, I need to find her”
“Boy, I’m not lying…I’m guessing you saw a shooting star then it got real bright and about now, I’m guessing your body feels like your ran three marathons”
“More like i was hit by a truck...Wait...How do you know?” He looked at me for a moment before walking into his garage.
“Because tonight’s not the only night it happens. Your girlfriend is apart of something much bigger than you’ll ever know”
“So she’s…in hell...My Kristina is…dea..?" I couldn't say it , I could say the word with Kristina's name in it.
“She’s not dead but she’s in hell, that star you saw wasn’t a star…It was a seal breaking, one breaks every 50 years, it opens the gates of hell and demons come out and pull whoever is near into hell” The old man reaches into one of the wooden crafted cabinets and pulls out a small box.
“How do you know this?” He looks up at me, eyes not to pleased.
“Because I saw the first one…if it even was the first time” He opens the box, revealing a large silver magnum. He throws it to me, I cautionly catch it. “You’ll need that if you want to save her”
“But if she’s really in hell how am I suppose to get her?”
“You don’t have along, there’s going to be another flash soon, it’ll be the seal closing, which means the the gates of hell will be closing, you have to be on that field when the seal closes”
“Will I ever return?” The old man opened his arms, I just looked at him until I finally figured out what he meant.
“Wait…What happened to you when you saw it?" The man looks down, I knew his answer but…I don’t know, I needed to hear something, even if it was a lie.
“I was reckless, I made choices and decisions that only pushed her away, find her before it’s to late” I nod and run off, running in my truck and starting it up. I was about to go to hell in order to save the woman I love…GOD! That’s something I should never say.
