Green Arrow's niece, Artemis, joins Young Justice and must save a bright young scientist from the League of Shadows.

Ah, but is she Green Arrow's niece? Yes and no. I liked the episode, probably my second favourite so far, after Drop-Zone. I don't care for The League of Shadows, and their operatives weren't great villains, but the Mask-chich one was alright. The over all plot was great, I've never been a fan of nano-bot villains, it's hard to make them original or memorable, they didn't really change that here, but they managed to make it more of a devise than the primary antagonist. I liked Speedy -sorry...Red Arrow- for once, he's been a little one note the past few appearances. But here he's become is own man and started his own career, plus the start of the episode was very cool! (Only wish it was longer) I didn't enjoy some of the voice acting, it wasn't a particular character or scene of the episode, it was mainly the arguing, which for me, lacked some conviction in places. Also Superboy had barely any lines in this episode, I think he had like one or two or am I just imagining it? Artemis had some good material, the ending especially. The action sequences weren't not to my liking, they weren't in itty bitty pieces and poorly choreographed. Plus those villains weren't that good, I feel like they should have found it a lot easier to beat them.

Yeah, you basically hit it on the head there. Artemis is cool enough and I like the whole Red Arrow angle Speedy's going for, but the episode was lacking.
But my biggest gripe with this episode SHE SAID IT AGAIN! SHE SAID "HELLO MEGAN" AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I agree with basically everything here.
My second-biggest gripe was the spontaneity with which Artemis was introduced. Felt too small. (And she looked taller in the poster....)
So, just to be clear: Both girls are hitting on Superboy, who may or may not be a closet homosexual. Wally's hitting on Martian who's completely uninterested in him, even though he's got a clear thing for Artemis.
Oh, young love....

No! I love that. I LOVE Artemis!! She is one of my favorites now!
I love her voice actor and personality. We got to see Red Arrow being a jerk, again. I LOVED THE MS. MARTIAN/SPEEDY/SUPERBOY LOVE TRIANGLE!!! It was so funny. Watching Kid Flash was funny, his reaction to Artemis was great! Just one question, are Superboy and Ms. Martian going to be at school too? Great episode! 10/10!! And I didnt recongize Ra's Al Ghul at all! I love Bats but I had no clue that was him! And Artemis has some secrets I don't know about... which is strange being a comic book geek. Again 10/10!
I WANT AQUA LAD!!! He keeps being so undershown! He is the leader for God's sake! And I really liked Kid in this episode. Superboy, still a jerk, but he seems to never show emotion. Its just Anger. And we got to hear "Hello-o Megan!" again. I love that. And I'm guessing Miss Martian is going to be the Peacekeeper.

Both girls are hitting on Superboy, who may or may not be a closet homosexual. Oh, young love.... LMAO, yeah. That seemed a little forced, though I'll hold judgment until it comes to pass. My second-biggest gripe was the spontaneity with which Artemis was introduced. Felt too small. Agreed, after the mysterious arrow assist in "Schooled" I felt like that her introduction should have had a similar tone. Plus it doesn't make any sense, why didn't she show her self when in "Schooled"?, there doesn't seem to be any reason for her to stay hidden and why didn't Green Arrow or Batman say something when YJ procured the arrow? it might make sense later because of Artemis's shady origin. I liked the start, but why is Kid Flash the only one who has to go to school?

The school year must start earlier in his area. And we don't know if Megan, Superboy or Aqualad will even go to school.

So, just to be clear: Both girls are hitting on Superboy, who may or may not be a closet homosexual. Wally's hitting on Martian who's completely uninterested in him, even though he's got a clear thing for Artemis. Huh? What makes you think that Superboy might be gay, and what makes you think that Wally is attracted to Artemis? Superboy is more interested in getting Superman's acceptance than anything else, but that doesn't make him gay... plus he's about as emotionally mature as a child since he hasn't been 'awake' for that long (it's been about a month since he was discovered in the lab so he's had limited exposure to the wider world at this stage (about one month of it). As for Wally and Artemis: he gave her a hard time because he felt that she was usurping Speedy's/Red Arrow's place, correct? That's all there is to it, I'm sure. Maybe that will change in time, but there's no crush on Artemis at the moment!

I actually thought Aqualad got the right amount of exposure here! And since this episode was centric on Artemis AND Kid, maybe Aqua's still gonna get an episode of his own. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) As for ShadowStar.... We're dealing with teenagers here - it's a cliche that the lovers act like they hate each other. It's just REALLY obvious. (Besides, can you think of any other reason that Wally WOULDN'T be hitting on her?)

I thought this was a good episode by Jon Weisman. The scene with the team at the beach while Wally was at school was funny. Oh, and since this episode had the League of Shadows in it, I was expecting to se Ra's al Guhl. Especially since the island is even the same base as in the comics. Then I was happy at the end when one of the members of the League of Shadows was talking to the light and refereed to one of the members as "master." Add that, with the fact that Wayne Industries was being hacked with those nanobots and I think it's safe to say that Ra's al Ghul is an emissary of the Light (Which may please some more than others ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) ).

(Besides, can you think of any other reason that Wally WOULDN'T be hitting on her?) Let's say you're right about Kid Flash and Artemis... If that's the case, then I would guess that they don't REALISE at this point in time that they're attracted to one another. It would be good for both characters if there is a romance, however brief, because we'd see what womaniser Kid Flash does when he actually falls in love with a girl rather than merely lusting after her, and if Artemis is a spy (for good or evil purposes), then the relationship with Kid Flash would complicate her mission. But the bottom line is that I don't believe that they're currently or consciously aware of any feelings that they MIGHT have for one another. You didn't answer my question about Superboy btw.

finally watched this one tonight, really great ep, although not perfect. Loved the Flash/Artemis interaction ("who are you!") and the girls competing for superboy's affection unsuccessfully is quite amusing(i think he's interested in Megan but doesn't want to show it, as it would show weakness on his part. he's almost definitely not a homosexual.) the reason that the others don't have to go to school? Megan's a martian, Robin is probably "tutored" by bruce, Aqualad is Atlantean and Superboy is a clone. so no school for those guys. I think the head guy with the mustache was Ra's but it wasn't clear so i'm not completely sure.
