Here you can discuss any Batman story that you'd like as well as recommend some (in case the title wasn't explanatory enough). So I'll start. I'll recommend a few of my favorite stories with Catwoman and Bane in them: ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51F44K8VRBL._SS500_.jpg) ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51T5QMBQ30L._SS500_.jpg) ![](http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/ciu/33/dc/d008820dd7a0c1befdced010.L.jpg) The Knightfall saga parts 1-3. This event took place after the Death of Superman, though I find this fall of a hero to be better, and it was an epic tale. I bought all three trades two years ago and it was a blast. Their are some confusing stuff since this doesn't contain the prelude to Knightfall which would include Bane's origin and Azreal's origin, but that why you have the internet folks. Still when The Dark Knight Rises does release, they might actually release the ENTIRE saga, since a few bits are missing after part tow and before part 3. Anyway back to the point... These three books have everything that makes a great Batman story. You have good Gordon stuff, a lot of villains that range from the Joker, Mad Hatter, Scarecrow, Two Face, Poison Ivy, Firefly, the Ventriloquist, Riddler, etc. If anyone decides to buy these and are confused with some continuity or characters than just ask me. I recommend these wholeheartedly. Next up: ![](http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/ciu/c1/f1/2df981b0c8a0be481754c110.L.jpg) Great story that takes place in Batman's early career and this is what the Nolan films are mostly based on. With the whole rise of freaks and the fall of gangsters theme in here. Not to mention some great Batman, Gordon, and Dent moments here. You have a lot of great villains like the Joker, Posion Ivy, Mad Hatter, Solomon Grundy, even CALENDAR MAN!!!!! ;D Oh and of course great Batman and Catwoman stuff in here. More recommendations from me later. Do you have any?

I'm thinking of buying a couple Batman books, so this tread should be good. Any recommendations for stand alone stories? I wanna get Prey, Long Halloween and Dark Victory. Knightfall is on my radar as well.

Alright I have some more recommendations right here. Written by THE famous Frank Miller of Daredevil fame comes... ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41c6P1655cL._SS500_.jpg) This book features the birth of Batman that takes place BEFORE the Long Halloween. See Gordon and Batman's first meeting. See how Carmine Falcone got those claw marks on his face that you see throughout the Long Halloween. Plus, the birth of Catwoman. Again, you can find simmilarties between this and the Nolan films. Example being the ending which will remind everyone of Batman Begins ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) . Next up... ![](http://www.dccomics.com/media/product/1/2/1241_400x600.jpg) The sequel to the Long Halloween is extraordinary. You have the same cast of rouges as the "freaks" slowly start to take over/ replace the crime families. Plus, introducing Robin: The Boy Wonder. ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51J89RUBYjL._SS500_.jpg) From Jeph Loeb, writer of Batman The Long Halloween and Dark Victory coooomes Batman: Hush. A great tale that features many villains including a new player. Who is Hush? People who are new to the comic mythos of Batman needn't worry about who some of these character are. Batman does a pretty good job explaining who they are for you. ;D Tune in for more recommendations tomorrow. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Those other three are definitely great reads.

I dont think i'll be able to do more recommendations tonight. Does anyone else have any? One of the few Batman books I did read was The Dark Knight Returns, I liked the book, the art take some getting used to but it's no big deal. The introduction at the start of the book is very cool.

That is a great book. Batman Year One is written by the same guy BTW. Annnnnyway next up...... ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71YNY2REDXL._SS500_.gif) ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51MS70J1ZHL._SS500_.jpg) ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51SZVBDEX5L._SS500_.jpg) ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/515QC5JCXVL._SS500_.jpg) ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51YPJCZWRNL._SS500_.jpg) Batman No Man's Land. Gotham get's struck by an earthquake and is cut off from the rest of the world, since Gotham previously suffered other problems like A major virus and various other stuff. Some people didn't get to evacuate for various reasons. And people mark their own territory by tagging, even the GCPD have to resort to this. In a town with no rules it's no holding back. Not to mention you get many villains. You get the usual rouges gallery. Plus Bane's big return from Kngihtfall AND Harley Quinn's debut in the comic continuity after her DCAU popularity. I recommend this for awesome Batman stories.

No Man's Land? I've never heard of it, but it sounds interesting.
Is there one primary villain? or is it more of a rouges gallery story?

I really need to read Batman: Year One and Knightfall... I've read The Long Halloween and that was good.
I haven't read many of the mainstream Batman comics but I can recommend some of the ones based off the show. One of the quintessential ones would be "Batman: Mad Love and Other Stories".

Frostbite200 It's more of a rouges gallery story, with a few villains getting the spotlight. The whole time you get hints there might be more to it than that, and there is in the fifth volume. shadowstar I actually did read Mad Love and several other DCAU stories written by Paul Dini in this graphic novel called: ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/515YXGXHE7L._SS500_.jpg) Really great stories. Guess this goes in the recommended pile.

Guess this goes in the recommended pile. I think the entirety of "Dangerous Dames and Demons" is reprinted in "Mad Love and Other Stories" (along with a reprint of "Mad Love" itself, of course).
