I haven't read any of the SM comics except for a few of amazing (the original of course) and Ultimate (the current gen) now, what is the difference with all the other SM comics like Spectacular, Peter Parker Spider-man, Sensational, etc. are they all spin-offs? Remakes? just curious, also any you would suggest for me to read?

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man is essentially a spin-off of Amazing. It takes place in 616 and ran current with the Amazing issues being published at the same time. the main difference is that Spectacular dealt more with Peter's college life, Amazing dealt more with his superheroics. The other versions for the most part follow this same pattern, they just give more stories for the reader in the 616 universe. There are some that aren't a part of the 616 of course, including Marvel Adventures Spider-Man and USM.

Correction: Spectacular dealt moreso with his POST-GRAD student life (until he dropped out). He graduated undergrad shortly after the series began.
But yeah, pretty much all the different titles just focus on different arcs. For example, in the mid-'80s, the Spidey/Black Cat relationship was maintained almost entirely in the Spectacular title, while the Hobgoblin mystery was focused in Amazing.
As for recommendations.... Death of Gwen Stacy is a must-read, as well as Kraven's Last Hunt and The Boy Who Collects Spider-Man. Some of my personal favorites include the Tablet of Time story arc, the original Carrion arc, the original Clone Saga, 24 Hours to Live (Spencer Smythe's death issue), Maximum Carnage (though I'll tell you now that some people hate it), the Nullifier arc, the Hobgoblin mystery issues, and of course the whole Lee/Ditko run. You should also probably read #200, where the Burglar returned (unfortunately, I can't recall which issue the arc began in.... 298 maybe?).

although there were hints of it way back in the 180s, the burglar arc got a lot more screentime so to speak starting with 193, though it didn't become the focus til about 198. In addition to spidey's suggestions, I'll add in the Master Planner arc(which is part of Lee/Ditko) as my favorite arc ever and also Spider-Man No More, which is ASM #50

Yeah, how could I have forgotten that - 50-52 is a keeper. That's Spider-Man No More, and the first Kingpin arc.

What about the Lee/Romita era? I mean, NO ONE gives that the credit it deserves. It was sooooo good. The Lee/Ditko era didnt really have me interested.

Lol, I just didn't mention it 'cause it's much longer than the Lee/Ditko, but as you can see, several of my recommendations come from that era. In fact, I just noticed another I forgot - ASM #39-40, Trading Identities! Oh yeah, and also the drug storyline! Not sure on this one, but I think it started in 97.... or else it ended in 97.... I think....
